This is the outfit I wore this morning, yup I actually wore this today, to an interview no less! Although I may have finished my first year of University, handed in all assignments and sat both of my exams its now full steam ahead into interviews for our placement for next year! This morning I was at Michael Kors HQ being interviewed for an Allocator position within the company. The placement (wherever I may end up) runs from January - December in 2014. I literally cannot wait to be on a full time, paid placement applying my skills from what I have learnt on the Merchandising course to real life situations! So far, I have been very fortunate to get interviews with ASOS, Selfridges, Topshop, River Island, Debenhams and Surfdome, as well of course as MK. To be honest, I would be lucky to be offered a job from any of the above retailers and really am so honoured even to get through to an interview stage! Keep your fingers crossed for me guys! I find out who wants me / where I am going to be working on the 6th of June!

The Whistles dress I am wearing above is absolutely stunning, with or without the belt! Its quite an oversized, boxy shape but I like to pair it with a belt on occasion to show off my waist! I get so many compliments when I wear this dress out, especially today! The two girls at MK who interviewed me both made lovely comments and then a woman at Republics press day also complimented the colour of the dress! It was definitely worth the money!

The sunglasses, OH THE SUNGLASSES! I won these for £2 or something ridiculously cheap on eBay a while back and once they arrived I immediately ordered them again but in white! I've had a few people ask if they are the Prada sunglasses, alas, no but they are really very good copies (not that I am advocating everyone should buy rip off designer products!) but I have seen them on Boohoo and all over so I thought I'd jump on the band wagon!

Cath Kidston - 20th Birthday Event

Me and Hayley from Frock Me Im Famous

To celebrate Cath Kidston's 20th birthday, around thirty bloggers were chauffeur driven to Cath Kidston HQ to drink cocktails, nibble on miniature British classics and learn how to make candles and cakes - two skills one should master to be the perfect housewife of course!

The night consisted of mingling with other bloggers and preparing our candles to set before we settled down to be taught a few icing tips and tricks by the one and only Lily Vanilli!
I'm not going to lie Hayley from Frock Me I'm Famous was a dab hand at the old piped roses. On the other hand, I was abysmal.. I think with each attempt I actually got worse! Even though I aborted that plan I still managed to make my cupcakes look pretty with fruit, coco powder and real life flowers, yup, Lily showed us how to preserve the flowers so that they would last ... forever! (Well not quite forever, but for a long time).

After popping our cupcakes in uh-mazing Cath Kidston cake tins and picking up our beautiful candles we were handed a goody bag on the way out that contained the new 'Coming Up Roses' book that has been released in celebration of the brands 20th birthday. I have yet to read it with University deadlines and exams, but now I am finished for the year I will be able to pour over it and find out how to become the next Cath Kidston (or at least get some tips on how to become successful in business!)

Revival

Dress - ASOS (old)
Boots - Republic
Bracelet - Whistles
Stone Ring - Topshop
Bar Ring - Republic

Photographer - Lewis Jones

Classic pieces. That is what my wardrobe is slowing being filled with and I love it. I have had this ASOS dress for maybe two years now and since moving to London I have somewhat revived it. Its always something I pull out for an interview or a press day with a higher end brand as it has that smart, understated feel about it. To be honest, I usually cinch this dress in at the waist with a tan belt to match with my boots and show off my figure, but, I actually don't mind it without.
I remember seeing this on the ASOS website and immediately ordering it because of its unusual structuring across the shoulders and sleeves... mmm, yeah, I still really like this dress.

Serge DeNimes

Being at press days all day, I have to say making Serge DeNimes party my last port of call was a good one. However, I didn't stay for too long as I was horrifically tired and the Imitate Modern was extremely warm, due to the fact it was full of press, celebrities and of course, friends and family of Oliver and Lena Proudlock. After being there just five minutes and quickly perusing Lenas beautiful photographs I swiftly headed down to the basement where the Serge DeNimes collection was on display in a tiny box room. I took in the individuality and loud prints of the new collection, loving the floral sleeved jumper and the new printed tees whilst also looking over the previous seasons collection that was on display. All the while comparing the progression of the first collection to what it is now, which led on to me reviewing the growth and progression of Serge DeNimes, but also, Oliver Proudlock.

Ollie studied art foundation at CSM and then went onto do fine art at Newcastle University. He was brought up in a creative household with his mother being a designer and a photographer; it is no wonder Ollie has a penchant for the arts. However, I feel this is somewhat overshadowed by the fact many people will know him from the reality show, Made In Chelsea - Although, is anyone else loving all the filming thats been done in his studio this season? Hell yes.

Ollie launched Serge DeNimes back in June 2011. Since then, the brand has grown at such a rapid pace, only bolstered by the fact he can showcase it on such a popular reality TV show. The second collection features beanies, jewellery, sweatshirts and a new line of graphic t-shirts which was the second collaboration between Ollie and his mother to produce more Rio inspired tees.

The aspect I love most about this brand is the fact that Ollie really does care about how the garment is designed and what it is made from - just because he's an MIC star doesn't mean he's just sticking his name (or brand) on any old crap. You can see he is a perfectionist from the collection, the prints are strong, the material is good quality and I imagine they look even better on than they do on the hangers.

I for one cannot wait to get my hands on these pieces!

Motel Rocks Press Day

What I wore:

Jacket - French Connection
Dress - Republic (old)
Belt - Primark
Necklace - Republic
Tights - c/o Pretty Polly
Boots - Republic

This post is SO LATE... I apologise :( - none the less, I loved the 90's vibe going on at the spot that Motel had taken over! Complete with Friend's playing on the TV, Slush Puppies and Pop Tarts, it was one big time warp back to my childhood!

The AW13 collection comprised of lots of monochrome, sequins and awesome textures! Motel Rocks have always done monochrome and are almost famed for it, and rightly so, they do it extremely well. Next season we will see it across striped tees and skirts, checks on crop tops (Marc Jacobs-esk) and polka dot tea dresses!
I have to say, I am eagerly anticipating the sequin garments to land down later in the year.. my favourite pieces being the one I'm holding in the last picture and the two maxi dresses in the iridescent green sequin and understated black. I know the green sequinned dresses did so well for Motel Rocks over the festive period last year and I predict the same this year!

A huge thank you to Selina and the team for inviting me along to the press day and filling me full of lots of 90's sweet treats!

Animal Jacquard

Jacket - Republic
Top - Whistles
Jeans - Whistles
Heels - ASOS via eBay
Earrings - c/o Cat-a-Cake Creations
Rings - Pandora

Eek, the wind is not a outfit bloggers friend! I'm sorry for all the hair-holdy-back poses but there was so many pictures taken with my hair in front of my face if I didn't! Very annoying!

I met Claire from Cat-a-Cake at the High Street Fashion Week Press Event last Monday, she was so lovely and she kindly gifted me these cute little teapot earrings! Her designs are very cute and kitsch and I'm sure there will be something for everyone in her shop! Check it out here. I don't think it will be the last time you see these earrings in my outfit posts!

How amazing are these printed jeans?! I've had them since February and always get compliments on them where ever I go! They feature a feather print all over them, I'm not sure you can really see it from my pictures, but they are still on the website here. These jeans are pretty incredible - they haven't lost their shape (no baggy bum like you get with some jeans!) and are really easy to wear.

The shoes, oh the shoes! I snapped these bad boys up on eBay last week.. I won them for £10! No joke - AND these shoes were being sold on ASOS in January, so they aren't even that old! I had been looking for a nice simple pair of court stilettos for work, but all were either far too high or too pricey so I really am chuffed with my steal here!
